    Research does not include “some college pulling certain persons in for research”. Medical record, without names of patients are currently open for research studies. A single electronic record would be preferable to many such records at many different places with conflicting information. It would also be a heck of a lot cheaper.

    I think you are over examining this section, in and of itself it is a concern however, if you continue to read there are stipulations as to who (specifically) can receive the information.

    Scares me to death.
    Those that can’t read into the big picture and realize what this really is for will be in for a big shock.
    My medical records belong to me. The government has no business gaining access to them.
